Tom Healy, candidate for West Deerfield Assessor, is an Illinois State Certified Assessment Officer and a life-long township resident. He has had a distinguished eighteen year real estate career serving our community. As such, he has a strong background in understanding the property values of our township. As a homeowner and taxpayer, he realizes the necessity of assessments being both accurate and fair.

In addition, Tom has devoted himself to community service. This service has included being President of the Deerfield Rotary Club (twice), Assistant Governor to both the Highland Park and Lake Forest Rotary Clubs, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, a member of the Deerfield/Riverwoods/Bannockburn Chamber of Commerce, and a leader of the Knights of Columbus Council #4238 representing Deerfield, Highwood, and Highland Park. He has also been an active member of his church – Holy Cross.

Tom’s professional career and involvement in West Deerfield Township have given him a wonderful opportunity to work closely with civic, business and community leaders. These relationships give him a solid working foundation for representing West Deerfield Township as Assessor.

Tom believes that a fair, consistent, accurate valuation of your property is the first priority of the West Deerfield Township Assessor’s Office. Transparency and accessibility are extremely important. He believes that the office must have a patient, compassionate and detailed approach with each taxpayer to insure that each taxpayer is comfortable with the assessment process.

West Deerfield Township has had a history of stability at the Assessor’s position. Tom has committed himself to being a full-time assessor and is excited about the prospects of a long and productive tenure as the West Deerfield Township Assessor.

Tom, his wife Jeanne, and their children -- Martha, 8, Joe, 6 Elizabeth, 4 and John 2 -- reside in Bannockburn.
