Township Team 2009

TOWNSHIP TEAM 2009

We just won the most important election in West Deerfield Township history. Each office was contested. Our Republican opponents poured in thousands of dollars from outside Lake County, went negative and came up nearly empty handed.

In this time of recovering from challenging and stressful economic crisis, it remains critical that our Township officers are qualified and committed to their roles as leaders in the community.

Our new Township Board will continue to serve our residents, especially Seniors and the mobility challenged.

Julie Morrison, who has served 12 years as Supervisor, has been re-elected. Julie will continue her leadership of the Township and to work with those Township residents most in need.

Tom Healy ran a magnificent campaign as a first time candidate for office. By law, Tom's term of office begins on January 1, 2010. Tom is a life-long resident of West Deerfield Township. He is compassionate and has the people skills that are needed in these challenging times.

Robbie Boudreau has been elected and will continue as our Township Clerk. Robbie again managed early voting for the April 2009 election in a caring and professional manner. In the November 2008 election, Robbie was commended by the Lake County Clerk for her handling of the record early voting turnout.

Ron Levitsky, and Ron Schwartz have been re-elected as Trustees. Betty O’Shaughnessy, a long-time community activist has also been elected as a Trustee. They will continue, with the other Township officers, to innovate community service programs and provide policy direction for the Township.

A special debt of gratitude is owed to Bob Rosenbacher. Bob showed when he was elected four years ago that we live in a Democratic Township. No one worked harder for our Team during this election.

Stay tuned for our announcement of our Spring cleaning of Deerfield Rd. between Wilmot and Sanders. This one will be special because we will get to see the new bike path between Wilmot and Sanders that goes over the Tollway.

Sincerely,

Mitchell Miller
